Well Connected App

Well Connected is Lanarkshire’s social prescribing programme that makes it easier for us to take part in and benefit from activities and services that we know can improve our wellbeing. The programme has been shown to help people by: improving self-confidence and self-esteem; reducing low mood; reduce feelings of stress; increase the number of people taking part in arts, leisure, education, volunteering and many other ways. The app is free to download and available on the Apple App Store and for Android by searching Well Connected Lanarkshire. Lanarkshire Suicide Prevention App

A new smartphone app provides practical support for people who are having suicidal thoughts or who may know someone who is. To help get the “Let’s Talk” message across, the Suicide Prevention in Lanarkshire app is packed with useful information to help keep people safe and provide guidance on how to look out for others you may be concerned about. Details about training and awareness sessions, facts and myths around suicide, how to start the conversation about suicide, and how to access crucial support helplines and much more. The app has been created by South Lanarkshire Council and North Lanarkshire Council’s suicide prevention initiatives. The app is free to download from your mobile device app store by searching for SP Lanarkshire.

Calm Distress

Calm Distress is an online course all about emotions, coping and wellbeing from NHS Lanarkshire Psychological Services for those living or working in Lanarkshire. All of us feel stress at times and it is entirely normal and sometimes it can even be helpful! But it can also get on top of us and we tip from stress into distress. This is where Calm Distress can help. The course has been designed for you to use in your own time. It is made up of five videos each one lasting about 20 minutes and downloadable booklets help you keep track of your progress.

SilverCloud

These programmes give you the skills to deal with everyday issues that affect your emotional health. Four SilverCloud courses (Space from COVID-19, Resilience, Sleep and Stress) can be accessed by self-referral (with other courses requiring a referral from your GP or another healthcare professional. Daylight and Sleepio

Two new online programs to help you manage anxiety and get a better night’s sleep. Designed and tested by experts, and widely used around the world, Daylight and Sleepio offer personalised help for two common problems: anxiety and poor sleep.
